Brochure

Your brochure for China is most effective when it is custom-developed.

Your standard corporate brochure is unlikely to contain references to matters of specific importance to the Chinese. Promoting your business without addressing their aspirations is not even doing the lip service. Translation does not make up these shortcomings. It exposes them.

Also, as translators, we have our hands tied by rules of engagement in translation. In order to be faithful to the English text, and you want us to be, we can't add in what is not already in the source copy no matter how effective a particular phrase or analogy might be for China.

Finally, the design of your corporate brochure was done for the English language. The text layout, font style and size as well as highlighting and other effects frequently clash with the features of the Chinese language.

For example, Chinese text uses up much less room than English. For another, the standard character set that comes with Windows gives your document an extremely unsophisticated look.

We ensure that your brochure in Chinese delivers the intended effect in both content and presentation.

Each project is different. Typically, it goes through a four stage process.

You tell us the objective, the intended readers and use of the brochure, based on which we send you a proposed list of content for you to approve

We then send you a draft copy in English of the content of the brochure to comment and approve, after which -

We replace the English text of your brochure with Chinese and adapt the graphic features to suit Chinese

We deliver a brochure in Chinese that retains the look and feel of your corporate brochure but appeals to the heart and mind of your Chinese customers
